About this role
Would you be able to give some of your time to provide transport for people who find it difficult or impossible to get around? Are you looking to make a difference in people’s lives? If yes, then Volunteer Driving is for you!
The only cost to you is your time. You will be reimbursed for every mile you travel using your own car when driving for the scheme. We will provide training, support and social events. It’s a great way to give something back to those most in need and meet new people.
VASL’s Social car scheme is for people living in our catchment area (East side of A5199 in Harborough District) and is supported by Leicestershire County Council. The service provide transport for the elderly or disabled people who have no transport of their own, have difficulty using or have no access to public transport. It’s a thoroughly worthwhile service and our volunteer drivers get to support the community they love.
Volunteer drivers take passengers to destinations within Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Nottingham and you can do as much or as little as you want.
