About the opportunity
Our team help people from all walks of life to access volunteering opportunities, by providing face to face information and signposting to local projects.
We are currently seeking mature volunteers with good listening and communication skills to help potential volunteers find out about projects and activities which may interest them in their local area.
You will be asked to support new volunteers in one-to-one appointments to access their volunteer profiles, search for suitable roles and explain how to get started with volunteering. Your roles will include updating records on a computerised database and undertaking other office administration duties to ensure volunteers are informed of new opportunities. (Full training will be provided and a member of staff will be available to support at all times).
Your life experience and knowledge is need to help volunteers to find the right volunteering role with Leicestershire, open mindedness and willingness to listen will help you to encourage people to overcome barriers and find opportunities that are tailored to suit their needs. This flexible opportunity is ideal for anyone with an interest in supporting the local community.
Our venue has good access. If you have particular needs, please let us know and we will do our best to support you.

We are looking for volunteers that
- Can demonstrate good communication and listening skills
- Have a good understanding and confidence in using Websites and Databases
- Show a willingness to work with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Are able to work independently
- Application form (including equal opportunities form)
- References taken up (we ask for one)
- Training and Induction provided
We would like our volunteers to be able to commit between 3-4 hours a week. You would need to have some availability between the following days and times:
Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays 10.00am - 1.00pm - this will be discussed further at interview.
