Menphys – A new and exciting future

As Menphys heads towards celebrating fifty years of supporting disabled children, young people and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland in 2020, we are delighted to announce an agreement with Leicestershire County Council to take on the Bassett Centre in South Wigston.

The Centre will become the new Menphys Hub providing the charity with both a long-term home, a base for developing and growing services, along with enhancing the support it provides to disabled children, young people, and their families.

Be The Boss Showcase Event delivered by Iconic, Music, Dance and Drama. - 7th October 2019 at The Attenborough Arts Centre from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.

A PERFORMING ARTS PROJECT THAT TURNS THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE ISSUE OF LONELINESS AND ISOLATION AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE! Social enterprise, Iconic, brings together a creative mix of stories, gathered and developed in workshops over a four month period, which will be brought to life on stage and told through music, dance and drama. This amazing showcase event will be held on 7th October 2019 at The Attenborough Arts Centre from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.

Volunteer Manager

To support Leicester Comedy Festival in recruiting and organising volunteers for and during the 2020 festival.

You will be working in our office in the centre of town for a minimum of one day a week, hours to suit you. In January and during the festival you will need to do a few more hours. This will include evening and weekends.

This year’s National Eye Health Week sees the Vista Mobile Support Service bus based in Leicester city centre. The bus will be at Clock Tower from Monday 23rd September to Friday 27th  between  10:00 and 16:00. The mobile support service team are offering free eye screening and advice about reducing the risk of sight loss.

Read Easy UK Working to Start Read Easy Leicester

Read Easy UK are looking to set up a group in the Leicester area and are looking for people who are interested in volunteering. Read Easy offer free, one-to-one reading coaching to adults who are looking to improve their reading skills. Volunteers are needed to be part of a management committee, the possible roles include secretary, fundraiser and team leader to name a few. Once the group has been establsihed in Leicester, they will then look to recruit volunteers to act as reading coaches.

Is looking for a “Pop up” Shop Manager in Bishop Street Methodist Church, Leicester. Mid-October to Mid-December.

Our seasonal “pop-up” shop sells Christmas cards and gifts to support local and national charities.

If you are organised, enthusiastic and enjoy being part of a friendly team, running one of our shops is rewarding, sociable and fun. For this role there is a small remuneration paid to cover expenses.

Ghana Kente Festival and Coronation Event Saturday 31st August - Looking for Volunteers

Beyond your imagination is a charity primarily based in Leicester also known as Nipahiammoa. The aim of the charity is to aid in bettering the lives of the Ghanaian community. We are strong believers of unity and being a helping hand for all those in need. 


Our fundraising event is used to support our clinics where our members are given free advice and help with issues such as employment, finances and many more. Our event will be fun-filled and exuberate our beautiful culture, making sure that it’s always an event to be remembered.



The Well in Kibworth - Looking for Volunteers

The Well is a local charity based in Kibworth that was set up to provide support to the most vulnerable people in society.  It comprises a cafe selling a range of light snacks, cakes, teas, coffees and other drinks,  a beautiful courtyard garden nestles at the rear for community enjoyment and there is a small shop selling pre loved high quality clothes, shoes and accessories that is situated adjacent to the cafe.
