Oxfam Leicester at 22 Market Street is relaunching on Thursday October 3rd 2019 at 10:00am after expanding the books and music department and retaining the bridal department on the first floor.
Oxfam is a movement of millions of people, all working towards one goal – an end to poverty for everyone. We take on the big issues that keep people poor in the UK and globally – issues such as inequality, hunger and climate change – so you can play a part, no matter how small to be a part of our movement by getting involved.

Oxfam GB has over 30,000 volunteers who 'won't live with poverty' including thousands of Oxfam shop trading volunteers, many who benefit from flexible opportunities:
· in the stock room
· learning financial practice and analysis
· retail experience and transferable skills
· marketing experience
· participation in acquiring NVQ retail awards,
· visual merchandising (often popular with art and textile students)
· preparing donated stock for sale
For this re-launch, the shop is seeking volunteers that have an interest in all genres of books, music and bridal wear and accessories.
Volunteers who are interested in applying to volunteer for full day, or half day shift, during the week or weekend on a flexible basis at the shop can either pop in or contact the managers Ahsan or Richard for more information by emailing oxfamshopF1718@oxfam.org.uk or by calling: 0116 255 6455
Volunteering is a fun way to get to feeling good by having some fun, making new friends and learning and sharing skills.
Oxfam shop volunteers have made lifelong friends, helped the newbies with their first week, shared tea breaks at the shop and Christmas lunch or dinner together, been recognised for a salutary achievement, or simply wanted to pick up transferable and retail skills selling online, organising the stock room or giving great customer service on the shop floor
Oxfam Leicester Market Street sells donated books, music, DVDs, new cards, collectables and bridal wear
Our volunteer team will also train any interested volunteers on how to use a computerised till and excel at customer service. Like the idea of creating themed windows? You could be a book worm, or music lover or have a thing for fancy or sophisticated bridal wear or new to the area and looking to make friends seeking a community volunteering experience, or wishing to build your CV, love to treasure hunt to find those rare and unusual books, vinyl or music that are highly collectable, there will be a role to suit you at this shop.
We look forward to meeting you…………
