About this role
Would you be able to donate a little of your time to help a really deserving group of youngsters? If so, here’s your chance!
Harborough Young Carers Group exists to give Young Carers aged 11-18 a break from their caring responsibilities – a chance to meet other youngsters in the same boat and try some fun activities. The group meets fortnightly in Harborough on Tuesday evenings. There are currently around 15 members who live all over South Leicestershire, from Lutterworth to Houghton on the Hill. All of them are affected by caring for a parent.
Demand for the group is growing, and as a result they are looking for Volunteer Drivers who live in or near Market Harborough to give the Young Carers a lift to and from the group. Petrol costs are fully reimbursed. They also urgently need Volunteer Escorts who are free on Tuesday evenings, to accompany the Volunteer Drivers.
The group meets from 6.30pm – 8.30pm during term time, every other Tuesday evening, at The Cube, in Market Harborough (just off St Marys Road).
