About the opportunity
One of the main roles of Together Against Cancer is to provide vital ongoing support to cancer patients and their carers. One of the best ways of raising awareness about our support and increasing referrals is by visiting GPs and leaving our information leaflets in the surgery waiting room.
We are looking for leaflet distributors to spend an average of 1-2hours a week dropping off literature to GP surgeries across Leicestershire. A designated geographical region will be provided, along with literature, a Together Against Cancer t-shirt and a volunteer badge.
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop new skills, give back to your local community and be part of our award-winning charity!
· Delivering TAC leaflets to GP surgeries across a designated region
· Keeping a record of which GPs have been contacted and regularly topping up stock
· Liaising with Jo Killick, Corporate and Community Fundraiser on GPs that have been contacted and forwarding on any feedback. Also keeping up-to-date with TACs key messages, fundraising initiatives and news.
Full support and training will be given through an induction session and the volunteer will have regular catch-ups for updates and any feedback from the surgeries. All volunteers are also encouraged to attend any of the in-house weekly workshops and external events.
- Access to a vehicle
The post will be subject to two references.
Whilst a driving licence is not necessary, the volunteer would need to be able to travel throughout the region to drop off the leaflets.
This role is flexible so the volunteer can choose their own dates/times to commit to and give as much or as little time as they have available.
