About the opportunity

 Are you committed to ending youth homelessness in our city? Do you believe that the voluntary sector can make a real difference to the lives of local people? Are you passionate about the welfare of marginalised communities? If so read on. 

The Y are recruiting new trustees to join its established board of directors.

As a leading young people’s charity in the East Midlands, now in its 136th year of existence, we are looking to recruit new trustees who have experience in any of the following: Fundraising and Marketing, Young People, Human Resources, Social Care, Education, Finance, Arts, Housing Development, Charity, Property and Housing Law.


  • Willing to take a DBS Check


Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a developed understanding through professional and or practical experience in any of the above.

Time Commitment

Minimum of 8 meetings a year (16 hours) plus an annual training and strategy day. Applicants will also need to complete a ½ day safeguarding children’s and adults’ course.


This is a voluntary role and as such there is no formal renumeration. However, travel and out of pocket expenses will be paid.
