Digital Engagement Volunteers

Provide computer training to service users with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. To support them in learning the basics of using a computer and staying safe online.

About the opportunity

Are you digitally engaged?

Do you access the internet to communicate with friends and family, shop and/or bank online?

Can you share your enthusiasm about the benefits of being online and the positive effect that technology can have on someone’s life?

We work with adults with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health and their carers.  Some of whom are disproportionally disadvantaged by not having access to technology and the internet. Could you help bridge that gap?

You will be willing to visit service users on a one to one basis and able to explain technology in a simple and clear way.

To engage with services users, empathise with diverse groups and understand their motivations for learning.

We cover the Leicestershire County (excludes Rutland and Leicester City).  We will aim to locate volunteers locally.

An hour a week of your computer skills knowledge could make all the difference to our service users.

Training and support will be given and travel expenses reimbursed.
